Day Two: Pedis and Fishing

From Steve Allen:

Wednesday in China was a great day. It started well with an excellent buffet of
western and Chinese foods. As we loaded the bus, there was a bit of the
unknown as we just didn't know what to expect from the kids we were serving
and the people on our team. Agape Family Life House is home to 17 special
needs orphans with OI--brittle bone disease. We first did a photo scavenger
hunt where we each took a child and had to take pictures around the housing
development--getting to know our kids and letting them get to know us.

Between that and some frisbee golf, the bonding happened and our hearts were
stretched. At lunchtime, Clay and Jewel, friends from Spokane who are serving
at Agape came to shared their story about how they came to China. During the
afternoon, the girls and women stayed at Agape and had a spa day with the
nannies and kids, while the men took the three boys fishing and to McDonalds.
Nothing like fishing in a wastewater treatment ditch, but at least one boy caught
a big carp. For dinner we had street barbeque stuffing ourselves on lamb,
chicken, potatoes and beans.
It really was a awesome day in a lot of ways. Tomorrow we head to Shepherd's
Field Children's Village and spend a full day there. Everyone in healthy, a bit
tired, and getting stretched.

The Lilac Court jumped right to paint finger and toe nails for their Spa Day with

some of the girls at Agape House.

These girls are rockin' it!

Clay Floch, of Agape House, and Mayor Peterson headed out to go fishing
with the boys.
China has no seat belt laws obviously.

Any guesses what President Hal is eatting?
